Converys (and Theisses and Zirolls) converge on Frankenmuth
After spending a couple of days in Mackinac City and on Mackinac Island, Mom and Dad together with Judy, Gary & the kids and with Zachary and Gedry in tow headed south to the quiet little hamlet of Frankenmuth . Peg, Elizabeth, Christine, Patrick, and I attacked from the south, but the Theiss and Ziroll kids had already laid siege the the city by the time we arrived. Of course the kids were famished, so we went in to the Bavarian Inn and had their world-famous chicken dinner PLUS the deluxe Bavarian combo platter of wiener schnitzel, sauerbraten, jager schnitzel, and several other German meat specialties. By the time we got through the bread, relish trays, salad, potatoes, noodles, soup, and meat tray, we were forced to pack up the chicken in doggy bags for another meal.
It is always fun getting together like this when someone else does the cooking, the serving, and the dishes and all we have to do is talk. It also helps that Dad picked up the check.
