Today I went to the marquis theater in Northville to see The Jungle Book. My favorite part was when Baloo sang:”ah duh duh duh”and the monkeys would say:” a doo do do” and Shere Khan got mad!
After the musical we walked across the street with the whole 2nd and 1st grade and had lunch at Ginoplolis’ Hole-in-the-Wall retaurant.

Although his birthday is still two weeks away, Patrick celebrated on Friday with a party at “Pump-it-Up” — an indoor playgroung with huge inflatable toys and play structures. Patrick shared the party with two of his second grade buddies who also have mid-late December birthdays. Nearly everyone in their second grade class turned out and had a great time and a pretty good workout!

Patrick has been anxious to play football, and we finally relented and registered him in an NFL flag football program. He had his first game on Saturday. He had a great time! All the kids rotate in and out of the game playing various positions. His favorites are center and nose guard. He got a chance to be QB as well. Our friend, Dave Pfeiffer, manages the restaurant and snack bar at the sports complex so we decided to stay after Patrick’s game and watch the Michigan game and eat dinner. Our friends the McDonalds were there for dinner and the game having just come from a party with their daughter, Emily. It was a very stressful 4th quarter, but Michigan prevailed to our great joy and the disappointment of about 1/3 of the restaurant patrons.

Today was my first day back to school. My new 2nd grade teacher is Mrs. Martel. I think I am going to like her. Our chairs are cooler than in 1st grade. We got donuts and red white and blue popsicles.
We get these cool word books.
I got to see a lot of my old friends like Noah, Matthew, Luca, and Amber. My friends Lauren, Tommy, Christian, Adam, and Andrew are in my class this year too!
Tomorrow is a full day of school and we have to wear our uniforms.

Today I went to the state fair with mom and grandpa bretz. my favorite part was the “Miracle of Life” where you can see baby animals being born. I didn’t see any animals being born, but I got to hold a 1 day old pig! The bird and rabbit house was cool. there were lots of pigeons and also some doves. There were also sweet identical rabbits. The cowboy at the petting zoo barn embarrassed me but I had fun. I got to have a corndog for lunch and found a Canada flag while I was walking. Another thing I really liked was the bee hives full of eggs and honey.
