There were plenty of upsets in the first round of the NCAA tournament including two number 2 teams falling to #15 opponents. Nothing was more upsetting than Michigan’s poor performance and loss to lower ranked *!%& (it’s a profane word around here even without “State” attached to it). While I find myself at the top of our bracket contest, I have lost much of my zeal for the tournament. Maybe after a couple of games tonight, I will be pumped up again and enjoy watching the Michigan State game on Sunday. Here are our current Bracket Contest standings:

Peg, Patrick & I visited LegoLand today. It was nearly as surreal as Dali proved to be yesterday. All of the creations made from lego bricks were incredible. The animals on the safari ride (giraffes, hippos, elephants, lions, zebras, ostriches, meercats) were incredibly lifelike in their detail. I was most impressed with mini-land where 20 different cities were recreated on 1/4 inch scale. The cities featured inclded New York (Time Square), Las Vegas, Cape Kennedy, Washington DC, San Francisco, and a ficticious pirate cove. With half a dozen rollercoasters, many other rides, and millions of legos to enjoy, Patrick was in a state of perfect bliss.

I visited the Dali Museum in its new permanent building last winter when I was visiting my mother and couldn’t miss the opportunity to go back again today with my mom, Peg, & Patrick. The building which houses the great artist’s work is nearly as unconventional and surprising as the art of Dali itself. Patrick was surprisingly taken with Dali’s art and moved slowly through the collection studying the surreal masterpieces. After several hours, he insisted upon checking out the “Dali Gardens” outside the museum even though grandma had suggested Applebees for dinner.

Well in the spirit of going Green I thought I would share this site with everyone. It’s very eye opening. I am taking a class about globalization and taking this quiz was one of our assignments.
Enjoy!

Hey Family/Friends
40 Days for Life is just around the corner and I thought I’d share it with everyone. It starts September 24th (Wednesday). Start praying about how you can get involved and make a difference.
God Bless!

40 Days for Life is a community-based campaign that draws attention to the evil of abortion through the use of a three-point program:
- Prayer and fasting
- Constant vigil
- Community outreach
40 Days for Life takes a determined, peaceful approach to showing local communities the consequences of abortion in their own neighborhoods, for their own friends and families. It puts into action a desire to cooperate with God in the carrying out of His plan for the end of abortion in America.
The 40-day campaign tracks Biblical history, where God used 40-day periods to transform individuals, communities … and the entire world. From Noah in the flood to Moses on the mountain to the disciples after Christ’s resurrection, it is clear that God sees the transformative value of His people accepting and meeting a 40-day challenge.
Vision and mission
40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God’s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion in America.
The mission of the campaign is to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity during a focused 40 day campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful activism, with the purpose of repentance, to seek God’s favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion in America.

If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Ira q . You can’t pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them…

Llloyd Carr and his Wolverines showed their character by returning to the gridiron and executing well in their rout of the Irish of Notre Dame. The entire sports writing staff of both daily newspapers in Detroit lambasted Lloyd Carr and his team for their opening performances and all but Mitch Album suggested (or even demanded) his resignation. None of them appear to understand that, as much as we love our winning tradition at Meeeechigan, we value character more. Over the past two weeks Carr and his players have shown their character on and off the field and have begun to vindicate themselves before the sports media which lacks a proper understanding and perspective on intercollegiate athletics.
GO BLUE
P.S.: Doug Karsch- Get a clue! WE will keep Carr!
